International “Development” Cooperation and Social Change from Below. Challenges to the Viability of a Social and Solidarity Economy in Haiti 2010–2020

L’Institut culturel Karl Lévêque (ICKL) vous invite à lire le quatrième chapitre de l’ouvrage collectif Global Partnerships and Neocolonialism. Ce chapitre intitulé « International “Development” Cooperation and Social Change from Below. Challenges to the Viability of a Social and Solidarity Economy in Haiti 2010–2020 » est co-écrit par Képler Aurélien et Marc-Arthur Fils-Aimé. Il examine les défis auxquels est confrontée l’économie sociale et solidaire en Haïti dans un contexte macroéconomique délétère largement façonné par la coopération internationale au « développement ». Il mobilise des sources documentaires et des données recueillies dans le cadre des éditions 2017, 2018 et 2019 d’une université populaire co-organisée par ICKL.

This chapter, entitled “International ‘Development’ Cooperation and Social Change from Below. Challenges to the Viability of a Social and Solidarity Economy in Haiti 2010–2020”,  is co-authored by Képler Aurélien and Marc-Arthur Fils-Aimé. It examines the challenges facing the Social and Solidarity Economy in Haiti in a harmful macroeconomic context largely shaped by international “development” cooperation. It draws on documentary sources and data collected during the 2017, 2018, and 2019 editions of a popular university co-organized by ICKL.
